Translucent resin lets light pass through while scattering it, producing a soft, frosted look rather than sharp, see-through clarity; it's closer to frosted glass than a clear window. This is often the natural, less-processed state of clear resin, since achieving true transparency typically requires additional sanding, polishing, or coating that translucent parts skip. Translucent resin is the better choice when soft light diffusion or a frosted aesthetic is the actual goal, or when full optical clarity isn't necessary for the part to do its job; transparent resin is the better fit when you need to see clearly through the material instead. Translucent resin suits lampshades and light diffusers, decorative pieces where a soft glow is wanted, and parts where only partial visibility through the material is needed.
