Standard resin is the general-purpose photopolymer most commonly used for visual models, prototypes, and detailed miniatures. It's rigid and holds fine surface detail well, but it's also quite brittle; it has relatively low elongation at break and impact resistance, so it tends to crack or shatter under sudden stress rather than flexing. This makes it a strong choice for static, detail-focused work, but a poor choice for parts that need to survive drops, snap-fits, or repeated mechanical stress. Tough resin would be the better fit there. Standard resin suits display models, miniatures, design prototypes, and visual mockups where surface finish and accuracy matter more than mechanical durability.

This finish is painted to a glossy sheen in a color of your choice via Pantone matching, rather than the resin's natural material color. Very fine surface detail may be very slightly softened by the paint layer.

The matte appearance is achieved with an opaque paint coating rather than the resin's natural material color. A wide range of colors can be chosen through Pantone matching. The result is a smooth, non-reflective, matte sheen.

Electroplated parts are coated in a thin layer of real metal (typically nickel or copper), giving them a fully metallic, reflective look rather than a painted appearance. The metal layer also adds strength, conductivity, and abrasion resistance.
