Metal Binder Jetting (MBJ) printed 316L stainless steel combines the inherent strengths of 316L stainless steel with the unique capabilities of MBJ technology. 316L is known for its excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for harsh environments. The MBJ technology can create complex geometries with more design freedom than traditional manufacturing methods. The MBJ printed parts have good mechanical properties, yet they do not match the density and strength of parts made through methods like DMLS/SLM. The surface finish of MBJ printed parts is not as smooth as with other methods. Still, MBJ-printed 316L steel is a robust choice for applications needing a balance of corrosion resistance, strength, and complex geometries.
